Green Talents recebe candidaturas até 9 de junho
Estão abertas as inscrições para o concurso Green Talents – O Fórum Internacional para Grandes Talentos em Desenvolvimento Sustentável, promovido pelo Ministério da Educação e Pesquisa da Alemanha (BMBF). Até 9 de junho serão aceitas candidaturas de jovens pesquisadores das áreas de desenvolvimento sustentável. Os 25 candidatos premiados visitarão a Alemanha por duas semanas, conhecendo instituições de pesquisa alemãs de excelência e recebendo informações em primeira mão sobre a pesquisa na área de sustentabilidade no país. Em 2014, os “Green Talents” serão convidados a voltar à Alemanha para uma estadia de pesquisa de até três meses, ganhando novas experiências em um ambiente inspirador. Na última edição, o brasileiro Antônio Otávio de Toledo Patrocínio, professor assistente de química inorgânica da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU), foi um dos escolhidos. Summer School: "Rural development beyond agriculture"
Rural areas in developing countries are mainly characterized by agriculture, and so is the design of respective policies. But a future-oriented, sustainable rural development has to be geared towards the present and potential multi-functionality of rural areas. Afore this background, The University of Applied Forest Sciences, Rottenburg (www.hs-rottenburg.de), in collaboration with and through funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (www.daad.de), and in co-operation with the Annual Conference on Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural and Natural Resource Management (Tropentag, www.tropentag.de) will be organizing a Summer School entitled "Rural Development Beyond Agriculture: Perspectives and potentials". The Summer School will take place from 8th to 16th September 2013, at the HFR. Subsequent to the Summer School, participants will attend the Annual Conference on Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural and Natural Resource Management (Tropentag) at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany from 17th to 19th September 2013. Os cursos de férias de curta duração das universidades alemãs são uma excelente oportunidade para quem deseja estudar o idioma alemão, avançar em seus estudos acadêmicos, enriquecer o currículo ou simplesmente ter contato com o ambiente universitário alemão. Para 2013, o banco de dados do DAAD soma mais de 300 opções de cursos nas instituições de ensino superior alemãs. A relação de cursos está disponível em: Summer Schools in Germany. O valor do investimento varia conforme duração, área de conhecimento, cidade, universidade e o que está incluído no programa (sobretudo atividades extras e hospedagem). No site, os interessados devem selecionar os cursos e verificar as condições para se inscrever.
ATENÇÃO: Dúvidas e pedidos de inscrição devem ser encaminhados diretamente para as universidades. Embora a página on-line indique haver bolsas do DAAD para alguns cursos, estas não valem para candidatos do Brasil. Para brasileiros, o DAAD oferece bolsas para o Curso de Inverno de Língua e Cultura Alemãs (Winterkurs).

Freie Universität Berlin International Summer and Winter University (FUBiS)
FUBiS is an intensive academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted toward their degrees at their home institutions. FUBiS sessions run for 3 to 6 weeks and take place both in summer and winter.
The FUBiS summer program 2013 takes place in two terms:
• FUBiS term II: May 25 - July 6, 2013 (6 weeks)
• FUBiS term III: July 13 - August 10, 2013 (4 weeks)
Each term may be taken separately. Students can choose between subject classes (mostly taught in English) and German language courses.
The subject courses are offered within the fields of Architecture, Art history, Politics, Humanities, Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, History, and Music. The subject courses may be combined with a semi-intensive German language course.
The German language courses are offered on up to five different levels of proficiency and take place as semi-intensive (3 days per week) or intensive (5 days per week) classes. The semi-intensive courses may be combined with a subject course.
Study visits within Berlin are an integral part of all our courses. In addition, FUBiS offers field trips to the Berlin Reichstag and a River Boat Tour through Downtown Berlin as well as day and weekend trips to Weimar, Dresden, and Hamburg.

Capes e Fundação Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) recebem inscrições para o programa de bolsas para pesquisa, com vigência até o final de 2014. O programa está divido em duas modalidades: pós-doutorado, destinado a pesquisadores altamente qualificados e em início da carreira acadêmica, que tenham completado seu doutorado há menos de quatro anos; e pesquisadores experientes, com foco em acadêmicos altamente qualificados e com perfil de pesquisa definido, que tenham completado seu doutorado há menos de 12 anos. Os benefícios são bolsa mensal, auxílio-instalação, auxílio-deslocamento, auxílio para aquisição de seguro saúde, curso de alemão - quando necessário -, subsídio para dependentes e auxílio para mobilidade. O DLR é o centro alemão de pesquisa aeroespacial, com atuação científica nas áreas espacial, aeronáutica, de transporte e energia. Esta parceria do DAAD com o DLR oferece fomento a doutorandos (36 meses), pós-doutorandos (6 a 24 meses) e cientistas seniores (um a três meses) estrangeiros, altamente qualificados, para realizarem pesquisas especiais em um dos 29 institutos do DLR na Alemanha. The Digital Sports Group at the Pattern Recognition Lab develops signal analysis and pattern recognition algorithms for motion and biosignal analysis. We focus on analyzing mobile data from body sensor networks for a wide range of applications. The group is lead by an endowed professor of the adidas AG. Research in two different projects would be possible:
- Motion impairment analysis for Parkinson's disease classification
- Biosignal analysis for team sports and movement motivation applications
